Spring Concert and Arts Night

 

All fifth grade students

Wednesday, April 16th, 2014

7:00 pm- 5th grade Band and Chorus

(5th grade Band please report to Mrs. Gendron’s room at 6:45, Chorus members please report to Mrs. Peabody’s room at 7)

 

ARTS NIGHT-

View art work around the school from 6-8 pm

 

Dress attire- please see the reverse side for details.

 

Attendance and participation of all 5th grade students is expected and is part of their music grade.  Please see our music blog at- franciswymanmusic.wordpress.com for specific guidelines and expectations of concert attendance, participation and etiquette.

5th grade Spring Show dress attire-

 

These are all SUGGESTIONS, not requirements. Please do not feel like you need to go out and buy anything. If you need any costume ideas or suggestions on how to make things, please email us!

 

If you are in the Chorus, Select Chorus, Joust Dancers, Thats the Way it’s Gonna Be Dancers-

Boys- You are knights! You can make your own armour out of cardboard, or even make your own crest to pin on your shirt! If you do not want to do that, please wear a black shirt and dark pants.

Girls-You are the damsels! Please wear a dress or skirt. If you like you can wear a headband with flowers and ribbons on it! If you do not want to do that, please wear a black shirt and dark pants.

 

Nobody’s Fool Dancers- Please wear green, yellow and purple in any combination!

 

Named Knights/Arthur- (for example Sir Up)-You can make your own armour out of cardboard if possible, make a crest to help describe your character name! Please wear black under your costume.

 

Named Ladies/Guinevere- (for example Lady Luck) Please wear a dress or skirt.

 

Merlin/Merlina- Please wear all black. If you have a wizards hat that would be great! Merlin could also wear a beard.

 

Messenger-Please wear all black.

 

The French- A black and white striped shirt, or a plain black or white shirt with a red bandana to wear around your neck. The King should have a crown. If any of the French soldiers or ladies have a beret they can also wear that.

 

We are still looking to borrow some items! Please let us know if you have any of these items-

– crowns

– berets

– red scarfs

– wizard hats

1st grade Concert, Feb. 14, 2014

The 1st grade Concert will still take place today at 2 p.m. If parents/relatives can not make the 2 pm show, we will be video taping the show. 

4th and 5th grade Winter Concert Notice

Dear Parents,

We are excited for our upcoming Winter Concert on Wednesday, December 11th, 2013.  The fourth and fifth grade students have been preparing for this concert since September.  Attendance of all fourth and fifth grade students is expected and is part of their music grade.  If you know that your child will not be able to attend the concert we ask that you contact us as soon as possible. Please be advised that if your child misses the concert their music grade will be affected. There is an extra credit writing assignment your child can do to help their music grade. The assignment will be sent home on Thursday, December 12, 2013 and will be due after the Winter break in early January 2014.

4th grade and 5th grade WINTER CONCERT

3rd Grade Thanksgiving Concert

We are very excited for our upcoming 3rd Grade Concert on Friday, Nov 22th @ 9:00 in the Francis Wyman Auditorium.

Dress Attire­ If possible, we are asking that students wear jeans and shirts in fall colors including yellow, orange, brown etc.

Please no writing on the shirts!

Each year, the Student Council takes part in a Food Drive for the Burlington Food Pantry. We are asking willing audience members to bring a nonperishable food item to donate.

Internet Policy

The internet can be a wonderful resource for the student of Francis Wyman. In order to make sure the internet is used properly in the music classroom, students are not allowed to access the internet themselves. In our classroom, the internet is mainly used to show videos that have all been previewed by both teachers. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Peabody or Ms. Potts
